Frequently Asked Questions

What is Soft Washing?

Although this isn’t a new technique, soft washing is a service you only find offered by the best Pressure Washing companies in our industry (like us!). Yes, we still use a pressure washer, however this method allows us to provide our clients with amazing exterior cleaning results at a lower PSI. In using this method, it allows us to eliminate any potential for damage that pressure washing under a high PSI can cause to certain materials such as roofing, siding, or wooden decks.

The process consists of applying a cleaning solution, letting the solution dwell and then rinsing away the unwanted material while using only low pressure to insure the safe cleaning of your property.

Lichen, moss, mold, mildew, algae, road grime & dirt don’t stand a chance. Soft washing kills the growth at the source when compared to using high pressure that only visibly removes the growth- not actually killing it at the source.

What is Pressure Washing or Power Washing?

Power washing, or pressure washing, is the growing application of high pressure water spray. Produced by specially designed pumps, this spray is a 100x more powerful than your typical garden hose.

On concrete, it is used to remove unsightly mold, bubble gum, and other dirt stains. Wooden decks are returned to the look of new wood, void of graying and fatigued finishes. And on houses, the appearance of siding (namely aluminum and vinyl) is greatly improved by removing pollution, mildew, and other signs of neglect.

Do you have a proper insurance policy?

Absolutely! We would gladly provide proof upon request.

Is pressure washing bad for my home?

Like most things, pressure washing can be bad if not done correctly. Maybe you’ve heard horror stories about broken siding or water in doors or windows. Vinyl siding is not as hard as brick, and can be damaged if not handled carefully. We are aware of these potential concerns and will apply appropriate washing techniques to your home to prevent them.

I received an estimate or coupon from another company offering very low prices. Why are your prices higher?

We are very competitive with our pricing. Unfortunately for the consumer, our industry is plagued with fly-by-night companies offering extremely low prices. They do this by not using professional equipment, cold water, inferior and often harmful chemicals, not carrying proper insurance, and by doing low-quality work that often results in damage to your property. According to the Better Business Bureau, low priced offers are most often associated with the most frequent consumer complaints and unresolved problems being reported. What we guarantee is a very fair and affordable price for the absolute highest quality exterior cleaning service!

How long will it take to pressure wash my home?

Pressure washing may take as little as 30 minutes or as long as hours. It depends not only on the size of your home, but how dirty it is as well as how accessible exterior surfaces are.

What are the advantages of pressure washing a home?

A good pressure washing can rid your home of potential health hazards like mold and mildew. Additionally, keeping your home free of debris prevents other maintenance issues like rot and water damage. Finally, regular maintenance pressure washing keeps your home looking like new.

When is the best time of year to have my home pressure washed?

In the Tennessee Valley, there’s really not a bad time of year. Our weather is typically never too cold for pressure washing. People often have their homes pressure washed in the spring or fall when the weather is milder and they spend more time outdoors. Pressure washing should be part of routine home maintenance – like pest control or landscape maintenance.

How often do you have to clean a roof?

After a roof wash, you can expect your roof to remain clean for up to 4 years. However, this can vary drastically based on factors like humidity and shade in your area.

Do I need to be home when you’re working on my property?

Not at all. However, if you won’t be home when we are servicing your property, we do require that you close all windows, clear your driveway or deck of all items such as furniture, grills, planters, etc., and remove any fragile decorative items.

How to help prepare for your service

Lock Your Doors and Windows

Secure any opening where water can enter through. You definitely do not want to add water damage to your home’s problems. Double check your doors and windows and make sure that they are completely closed.

If you are aware of any leaks or holes where water can still enter, please inform us. Forewarned is forearmed- and we will be extra cautious around that area.

Move or Cover Anything You Don’t Want to Get Wet

Store any items that can be moved away from the work area. That means any furniture on your deck or patio, garden tools, and your car if having your driveway washed. Secure these items a good distance away from the action.

*a $50 fee may be added if items need to be moved

Electricity and Water Don’t Mix

Please relocate electronic appliances and gadgets. Make sure to unplug extension cords and to close the covers on the outlets.

Keep Children and Pets Away

The high-pressure water stream generates intense kinetic energy. The pressure is more than enough to cause injury. So please keep your children and pets inside the house, away from the doors and windows, during the cleaning process.

... And Plants Too!

Our pressure washing service uses eco-friendly products to clean your surfaces. Our cleaning products should not damage your vegetation chemically but the high pressure can. The stream can outright destroy flowers, leaves, and branches.

Please store your potted plants in a safe place. You can always cover them with sturdy, waterproof plastic.
